Emily Brodnax has many hobbies and talents in life, but at the forefront of those is her passion for photography.  At 7 years old her mother placed a small camera in her hands and told her to “Show me how you see the world”.  Emily hasn’t put the camera down since.                 

At the age of 13 she was offered jobs by the local newspapers for her photography work, but decided she needed to focus on her studies.  Emily won many competitions at a young age which determined her life’s path and passion for photography as she grew up.

I have developed a respect and admiration for photography over the years.  Instead of competitions I chose to focus on my clientele.  I work with individuals, animals, families, landscape, models, artists, actors; anyone that would like a lasting image at any budget.  I remember my Godson asked me “MeeMee, can you take a picture of me to give to mama, I can’t pay you now, but I love you.”   

To me, although there is a lot of time and effort in taking pictures and editing the images, it’s more about making people happy with the end result.  It makes me feel great and encouraged when someone looks at an image and says “Is that me, I look amazing” or I can’t believe you captured our moment.  That is the bread and butter of what I do.
